In Records, the dancers turn space into an individual experience. What they are seeking here is another way of creating community or commonality by reinventing a new connection to the world. In this respect, Barbara Hannigan’s voice has remained one of the guiding forces behind this piece.
It is she who, in a way, sets the tone for unity – through a piece by Luigi Nono. Set in motion by this voice, and as they invent space, the dancers find connections, invent relationships, create common rhythms, and produce sounds themselves to resume a dialogue and create areas of contact.
