Official selection 2025 – International Screendance Festival of Burgundy
For this new official selection, the festival wanted to focus, among other themes, on the question of “deep time.” From the opening film (The Bead and the Furrows), which begins in the Neolithic era, to Im Dickicht des Waldes, which immerses us in the slow changes of a forest, the idea here is to take our time, a time that is more than human, that of nature, transcending the mere movements of our fleeting bodies.
The selection also invites us to compare the mass demonstrations against Donald Trump in the United States to large-scale group choreographies, where walking becomes meaningful, an act of defiance against power. A selection that takes us from Germany to Singapore, from the USA to India, painting a panorama of the multiple possibilities of video dance along the way.
