Promenade... création in situ
Saint-Martin Collegiate Church in Angers, Oiron Castle or Clisson Castle—major heritage sites in Loire-Atlantique, the Nantes Museum of Art, or even the Royal Palace of Vendrai Reale (Turin)…
These dance-walks were designed to connect heritage and movement, grand history and little anecdotes. Ambra Senatore captures the spirit of a place, whether historical, artistic, or scenic, drawing inspiration from strong architectural lines, stone, tall grasses in a garden, the posture of a sculpture, or figures in paintings.
In echoing this, her dance does not change course—everyday gestures, theatricality, humor, absurdity, games, direct interaction with the audience—but draws on a monument that serves as its thread. The wandering and the change of scenery allow for a better exploration of the spaces and, with the dancers, take the audience on a journey through a story to be heard and seen.
This principle of participatory choreographic promenade is reinvented for each place it passes through. At each new stop, she invites two to four dancers and musicians, long-time collaborators.
