Grace Yendo N’Dah’s solo piece ‘L’équilibre’ (Balance) highlights the often overlooked challenges and realities faced by widows and single mothers. The choreography reflects the emotional and psychological stress associated with loss and single parenthood, while illustrating the struggles to access essential resources, social isolation, social stigma and, above all, the quest for acceptance. Through assertive and revealing body language, the piece explores the complex and multifaceted realities of all these women in society.
