Blue Lady
On October 11, 1983, Carolyn Carlson created Blue Lady at the Fenice Theater in Venice. The piece has a huge impact and will be represented for ten years, worldwide.
Blue Lady marks the blossoming of a designer and a major performer, who has achieved remarkable artistic maturity and fullness of movement. The music of René Aubry, huge Venetian blinds, a tree, a whirlwind of dresses and hats set the poetic frame of a flamboyant dance. The flutters and arms of Carolyn Carlson have impressed memories through this solo, both sum and exploration of possibilities.
