In the short film NOVACIÉRIES, (LA)HORDE sets up a contemplative situation in which the multiple facets of jumpstyle – a dance stemming from the mainstream hardcore movement – are reinterpreted to give substance to the various aspects of the development of a ‘post-Internet’ dance.
The film is a global project that mixes cinematographic images made by (LA)HORDE in a disused steelworks, footage of a performance with the dancers in the short film and archive footage produced by the dancers themselves (‘homemade videos’).
Through this mix of media, aesthetics and points of view, NOVACIÉRIES transcends the dance film to offer a choreographed portrait of the post-industrial world.
