Almanach Bruitax
Marcia is Brazilian. She played goalkeeper for the Sao Paulo women’s soccer team, sang with the Californian band Tuxedomoon, and co-founded the Lolita et Castafiore collective in 1989. But it was in Angers with the master Alwin Nikolaïs that she learned composition, invention, dreaming, and choreographic poetry.
Karl Biscuit is French. An amateur entomologist, he cut his teeth as a composer and director with Dominique Boivin and then Philippe Decouflé, tinkering with two operas in the meantime, producing three albums, and co-founding Castafiore in 1989. With this Almanach Bruitax, they aim to portray the complex identity of Brazil, resolutely turned towards the third millennium, but still closely linked to the past. Fantasy, colors, rhythm, exuberance, spirituality, but also naivety and destitution: God and the devil in the land of the sun.
Popular, inventive, funny, tender, intelligent, poetic…
