Légendaires
2015 creation inspired by Lyman Franck Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz,” with and for 35 students from the APF/IEM La Marrière and Port Boyer schools in Nantes.
The story of the Wizard of Oz is a fabulous pretext for interpreting various bodily materials through dance and the bodies of young children. Scarecrows cannot stand on their legs, robots are the very embodiment of stiffness, flying monkeys work on space. With the witches, we begin the gestures of fear, power, melting and decay. Fairies offer floating, restraint of movement, magic, thickness and tornadoes, spirals, falls and rises. The Microsians hop around like champagne bubbles. The colorful inhabitants can each have a particular identity and move around in their own civilized way. The magician also has a particular subject to explore with the children. We will write a choreography that the children will first have imagined.
The performances took place on Friday, June 26, 2015, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the CCN in Nantes as part of the neighborhood event “Des Scènes Vagabondes,” organized by the city of Nantes.
