Lady Magma
With a singular frankness and a physical commitment commensurate with her ambitious projects, Oona Doherty talks about women in Lady Magma. Designed as a Dionysian celebration, this new piece brings together five performers from Ireland and Europe in a common trance against a background of funk music. By multiplying the sources, of stories of witches in pagan, Celtic or Hindu rituals, Oona Doherty seeks to find an animal connection whose energy is capable of gathering the public. In doing so, she offers her dancers a choreography in the form of liberation and magnifies without detour the vital and sexual force of the female body.
