2008 vallée
2008 vallée is an extrapolation based on the lyrics and music from Katerine’s latest album, Robots après tout. It is also an initiatory journey into the world of this atypical singer. In a seemingly blank setting, the music takes center stage, preceding the dance. Seven characters in search of each other will nevertheless learn either singing or dancing as a new territory to conquer and invest in. Stories from songs mixed with gestural fiction, a form appears without hierarchy between these two worlds. Here, there are no musical instruments, but voices and bodies that divert the songs and dethrone the singer and choreographer.
2008 vallée is a near future, sincerely utopian, purely fictional, and slightly “hippie.” It is also a falsely lunar landscape, falsely inflated, but at the heart of a very real encounter between the worlds of these artists.
Created on February 24, 25, and 26, 2006, at La Ferme du Buisson – Scène nationale de Marne-la-vallée.
