Revival of Rick Odums’ solo (2004) by the James Carlès Company in 2009.
“For me, dance has always been an act of faith! This short piece, entitled DEAR LORD, is an excerpt from the creation (Salima) that I developed based on this deep feeling that has always been with me. Through this solo, I also wanted to dare to combine the voice of an exceptional performer with that of the extraordinary Duke Ellington. Through a speech written based on my dance to glorify this unique moment of man facing God. A historic jazz encounter between the profane and the sacred.”
